RhlR antagonist 1

RhlR Antagonist

RhlR Antagonist 1 is a selective antagonist of the RhlR receptor with an IC50 of 26 μM. This compound demonstrates effective inhibition of biofilm formation under both static and dynamic conditions and reduces the production of virulence factors, including rhamnolipid and pyocyanin, in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. RhlR Antagonist 1 serves as a valuable tool for the development of quorum-sensing-modulating agents aimed at controlling P. aeruginosa infections. Additionally, it features a reactive alkyne group, enabling it to engage in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) reactions with azide-containing molecules.
