RL71
Anticancer Agent
RL71 is a curcuminoid compound that serves as an anticancer agent with potent cytotoxic effects against ER-negative breast cancer cells. At a concentration of 1 μM, RL71 induces G2/M cell cycle arrest and promotes apoptosis in SKBr3 cells. Additionally, RL71 decreases HER2/neu phosphorylation and elevates p27 levels while significantly reducing Akt phosphorylation. It also transiently activates the stress kinases JNK1/2 and p38 MAPK. In vitro studies demonstrate RL71's anti-angiogenic properties, effectively inhibiting HUVEC cell migration and their capacity to form tubular networks, making it a valuable tool for cancer research.
