PBP 3 Inhibitor
Ro 09-1428 is a potent inhibitor of penicillin-binding protein 3 (PBP 3), demonstrating significant antibacterial activity against multiple pathogens including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, with MIC90s of 0.39 and 6.25 μg/mL, respectively. It also exhibits efficacy against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Proteus mirabilis, among others. Ro 09-1428's preferential targeting of PBP 3 in E. coli and P. aeruginosa makes it a valuable tool for investigating septicemias and severe infections caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria.
