Rp-dGTPαS

SAMHD1 Substrate

Rp-dGTPαS is a nucleotide substrate for SAMHD1, which plays a critical role in regulating cellular dNTP pools and inhibiting viral replication, particularly in CD4+ myeloid cells and resting T cells. The enzyme SAMHD1, in its tetrameric form, catalyzes the hydrolysis of Rp-dGTPαS into 2'-deoxynucleosides and triphosphates, thereby affecting nucleic acid metabolism and viral clearance. This compound is valuable for studies related to HIV-1 biology and dNTP regulation in various cellular contexts.
