Rugonersen sodium

Antisense Oligonucleotide

Rugonersen sodium is a locked-nucleic acid (LNA)-modified antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) targeting ubiquitin-protein ligase E3A (UBE3A). This compound effectively reduces the silencing of UBE3A, making it a valuable tool for studying Angelman syndrome, a severe neurodevelopmental disorder resulting from the loss of functional UBE3A in neurons. Rugonersen sodium facilitates research into potential therapeutic strategies for this condition, contributing to the understanding of UBE3A function and regulation in neuronal development.
