Rusfertide
Ferroportin Degrader
Rusfertide is a peptide mimetic of natural hepcidin that functions as a ferroportin degrader. By promoting the degradation of ferroportin, Rusfertide effectively reduces serum iron levels and transferrin saturation, thereby influencing red blood cell production. This compound shows potential for therapeutic applications in conditions such as polycythemia vera, β-thalassemia, and hereditary hemochromatosis.
