S-MGB-234 TFA is a minor groove binder specifically targeting the treatment of African Animal Trypanosomiasis (AAT). This compound demonstrates potent in vitro activity against the principal pathogens responsible for AAT, namely Trypanosoma congolense and Trypanosoma vivax. Notably, S-MGB-234 TFA exhibits no cross-resistance with existing diamidine therapies and does not engage the transporters commonly used for diamidine internalization, making it a valuable candidate for further research in trypanosomiasis treatment.
