S-Propargylcysteine

H2S-Releasing Compound

S-Propargylcysteine (SPRC) is a slow-releasing H2S compound that functions as a structural analog of S-allyl cysteine (SAC). It exhibits anti-inflammatory properties by reducing Ca2+ accumulation, inhibiting STAT3 signaling, and increasing levels of p53 and Bax. Research indicates that S-Propargylcysteine provides protective effects in acute pancreatitis models and demonstrates cardioprotective and neuroprotective activities. This compound is valuable for studies focusing on oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular apoptosis.
