Sabinene hydrate

Plant Secondary Metabolite

Sabinene hydrate is a bicyclic monoterpene alcohol that serves as a plant secondary metabolite. It demonstrates broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, particularly against Gram-positive bacteria, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of 0.0312 mg/mL for Bacillus subtilis and 0.0625 mg/mL for Staphylococcus aureus. Additionally, it exhibits sensitivity to Escherichia coli and Candida albicans, both with MICs of 0.125 mg/mL. Sabinene hydrate is valuable for researching the ecological functions of plant defense mechanisms and understanding plant-based antimicrobial properties.
