Saralasin

Angiotensin II Receptor Antagonist

Saralasin is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that functions as a competitive inhibitor, exhibiting a Ki value of 0.32 nM for 74% of binding sites. This octapeptide analog of angiotensin II also displays partial agonist activity. Saralasin is valuable for research into renovascular hypertension and renin-dependent (angiotensinogenic) hypertension, providing insights into the modulatory effects of angiotensin II on blood pressure regulation.
