SCP-2 Inhibitor

SCPI-1 is a selective inhibitor of mosquito sterol carrier protein-2 (SCP-2), showing competitive inhibition with an IC50 of 0.347 µM for AeSCP-2 and 0.527 µM for AeSCP-x. This compound significantly impacts cholesterol metabolism in cultured insect cells, demonstrating an IC50 of 5.53 µM in Aag-2 cells. Additionally, SCPI-1 exhibits notable insecticidal activity against Aedes aegypti, with a lethal dose (LD50) of 4.8 µM, making it a valuable tool for research in insect physiology and pest control strategies.
