Anti-T. brucei Agent

SCYX-6759 is an orally active agent targeting Trypanosoma brucei, known for its ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. It exhibits significant inhibitory effects on cytochrome P450 enzymes, with IC50 values of 30.3 μM for CYP2D6, 30.6 μM for CYP2C9, and 47.4 μM for CYP2C19. SCYX-6759 demonstrates potent anti-trypanosomal activity, achieving IC50 values of 0.07 μg/mL against T. b. brucei 427, 0.038 μg/mL against T. b. rhodesiense STIB900, and 0.030 μg/mL against T. b. gambiense STIB930, making it a valuable compound for research in African sleeping sickness.
