Secretin (swine)

Neuroendocrine Hormone

Secretin (swine) is a neuroendocrine hormone that acts primarily on secretin receptors. This 27-amino acid peptide is secreted by S cells in the duodenal mucosa and plays a critical role in stimulating pancreatic secretion of water and bicarbonate. Additionally, secretin influences various physiological processes across the digestive system, central nervous system, and energy metabolism. It is valuable for research into gut-brain interactions and the regulation of digestive functions.
