Seneciphylline

Hepatotoxic Inducer

Seneciphylline is a hepatotoxic inducer that operates through metabolic activation by CYP450 enzymes, resulting in the formation of reactive intermediates. These intermediates covalently bind to biomacromolecules, including proteins and DNA, leading to the induction of cell apoptosis and mitochondrial dysfunction. Seneciphylline is valuable for research focused on elucidating mechanisms of hepatotoxicity and studying associated cellular pathways.
