Simvastatin hydroxy acid sodium

Simvastatin hydroxy acid sodium is a potent inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase (HMGCR), a key enzyme involved in cholesterol biosynthesis. This compound effectively reduces Indoxyl sulfate-mediated reactive oxygen species (ROS) production in human cardiomyocytes, highlighting its potential in oxidative stress research. Additionally, it modulates OATP3A1 expression in both cardiomyocytes and HEK293 cells transfected with the OATP3A1 gene, making it a valuable tool for studies on vascular biology and drug transport mechanisms.
