SKP-451

K+ Channel Agonist

SKP-451 is an ATP-sensitive potassium (K+) channel agonist that activates the efflux of K+, leading to membrane hyperpolarization and inhibition of calcium influx. This mechanism induces relaxation of vascular smooth muscle, notably in canine coronary arteries, rabbit basilar arteries, and vertebral arteries. In preclinical studies, SKP-451 has demonstrated the ability to lower mean arterial blood pressure in conscious spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), making it a valuable tool for cardiovascular disease research.
