SMARt751
VirS Ligand
SMARt751 targets the transcriptional regulatory factor VirS, inhibiting its DNA binding capability and upregulating the expression of the mymA operon. This activation enhances the antimicrobial efficacy of Ethionamide against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and reverses Ethionamide resistance. In preclinical mouse models, SMARt751 demonstrates a synergistic effect, improving the antibacterial action of Ethionamide while reducing the required dosage.
