SMN-C2

SMN2 Splicing Regulator

SMN-C2 is a selective modulator of SMN2 gene splicing, functioning by binding to SMN2 pre-mRNA. This binding enhances the interaction of far upstream element binding protein 1 (FUBP1) and KH-spliced RNA binding protein (KHSRP) with the pre-mRNA complex. SMN-C2 is primarily utilized in research focused on spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), providing insights into therapeutic avenues for this condition.
