SMTIN-P01
TRAP1 Inhibitor
SMTIN-P01 is a selective inhibitor of TRAP1, targeting the ATP-binding site as an ATP mimic to disrupt its ATPase and foldase activities. This compound promotes mitochondrial membrane depolarization and induces proteolytic degradation in cancer cells, demonstrating considerable cytotoxic effects while exhibiting minimal toxicity to primary mouse hepatocytes. Additionally, SMTIN-P01 does not affect SIRT3-related functions or alter the levels of cytosolic Hsp90 substrates, highlighting its potential for application in cancer research.
