SPR Inhibitor
SPR inhibitor 3 (SPRi3) is a potent inhibitor of sepiapterin reductase (SPR), demonstrating a high binding affinity to human SPR in a cell-free assay with an IC50 value of 74 nM. In cell-based assays, SPRi3 effectively decreases biopterin levels with an IC50 of 5.2 μM. This compound has been shown to alleviate neuropathic and inflammatory pain through the targeted reduction of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) levels, making it a valuable tool for research in pain modulation and related biological studies.
