SRI-31142

Dopamine Transporter

SRI-31142 is an allosteric inhibitor targeting the dopamine transporter (DAT), designed to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. This compound has demonstrated the ability to reduce intracranial self-stimulation (ICSS) responses and lower dopamine levels in the nucleus accumbens (NAc), differentiating its effects from those of traditional stimulants such as cocaine. Additionally, SRI-31142 effectively mitigates cocaine-induced increases in both ICSS and NAc dopamine levels, making it a valuable tool for investigating dopamine-related disorders and exploring potential therapeutic avenues.
