Tazolol

β-adrenergic Antagonist

Tazolol is a selective β-adrenergic antagonist, exhibiting an IC50 of 700 nM in inhibiting the accumulation of cyclic AMP in rat cortical slices when stimulated by (-) isoproterenol. This compound significantly enhances cardiac output and stroke volume, making it a valuable tool in the study of heart failure. Tazolol's capacity to modulate β-adrenergic signaling offers insights into cardiovascular physiology and potential therapeutic interventions.
