TC-2153
STEP Inhibitor
TC-2153 is a selective inhibitor of striatal-enriched protein tyrosine phosphatase (STEP), exhibiting potential psychotropic activity with low acute toxicity. This compound enhances the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in the brain and reduces the mRNA levels of monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) and 5-HT1A receptors in the midbrain. TC-2153 also serves as an inhibitor of 5-HT2A receptor-mediated signaling, making it of interest in neuropharmacological research.
