Bactericidal Agent

Temporin-GHd is a bactericidal agent that demonstrates potent antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 13.1 μM and a minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of 26 μM. It increases bacterial cell membrane permeability, leading to membrane damage and the leakage of intracellular contents. Additionally, Temporin-GHd is effective in disrupting preformed biofilms at elevated concentrations and exhibits the ability to bind to bacterial DNA, inhibiting DNA migration. This compound is valuable for research focused on bacterial infection control and biofilm management.
