Thermolysin, Bacillus thermoproteolyticus rokko

Thermostable Metalloproteinas

Thermolysin, derived from Bacillus thermoproteolyticus rokko, is a thermostable neutral metalloproteinase (EC 3.4.24.27) known for its ability to hydrolyze peptide bonds with hydrophobic residues. This enzyme exhibits optimal activity at a pH of 8.0 and remains stable across a pH range of 5 to 9.5, with peak functionality at 70 °C. Thermolysin is valuable in proteomic studies, peptide synthesis, and applications requiring robust enzymatic activity under extreme conditions.
