Thioperamide

H3 Antagonist

Thioperamide is a selective H3 receptor antagonist that effectively inhibits [3H]histamine release with a Ki of 4.3 nM. This compound also reduces [3H]histamine synthesis, showing inhibition at a Ki of 31 nM. Due to its oral bioavailability and ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier, thioperamide is valuable for research applications related to neuropharmacology and histaminergic signaling.
