Thiosemicarbazide

Vitamin B6 Antagonist

Thiosemicarbazide is a vitamin B6 antagonist recognized for its anti-acne properties. In addition to its role in dermatological research, Thiosemicarbazide serves as a valuable precursor in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, with derivatives that exhibit potential anticancer activity. Furthermore, it can react with metal salts and urea to form Co(II) and Cu(I) metal complexes, and it is utilized in media communications, optical storage, and the spectrophotometric detection of metal ions.
