Tipepidine

IDA(GIRK) Inhibitor

Tipepidine is an inhibitor of the dopamine D2 receptor-mediated G-protein coupled inwardly rectifying potassium (GIRK) currents, exhibiting a half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 7.0 μM. By inhibiting these currents, Tipepidine activates ventral tegmental area (VTA) dopamine neurons, thereby influencing dopaminergic signaling. This compound has demonstrated potential antidepressant-like effects and is commonly studied in research related to neuropharmacology and respiratory conditions.
