Tiropramide hydrochloride

Antispastic Agent

Tiropramide hydrochloride is a tyrosine derivative that functions as an antispastic agent. It acts primarily by inhibiting phosphodiesterase activity, leading to reduced cAMP catabolism in rabbit colon homogenates. This compound effectively relaxes smooth muscle in isolated rabbit colon preparations, making it a valuable tool for research into conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and biliary dyskinesia.
