Tiropramide

Antispastic Agent

Tiropramide is a tyrosine derivative that functions as an antispastic agent. It effectively inhibits phosphodiesterase activity, leading to reduced cAMP catabolism in rabbit colon homogenates. This compound promotes relaxation of smooth muscle in the isolated rabbit colon, making it a valuable tool for research into conditions such as irritable colon and biliary dyskinesia.
