Tofersen

Antisense Oligonucleotide

Tofersen is an antisense oligonucleotide designed to induce RNase H-mediated degradation of superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) mRNA, thereby decreasing SOD1 protein synthesis. This compound serves as a valuable tool in the study of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) pathology and therapeutic interventions targeting SOD1 mutations. Researchers can utilize Tofersen to explore its potential effects on motor neuron preservation and neurodegeneration associated with ALS.
