TOOS

Hydrogen Peroxide Detection Reagent

TOOS (TOOS sodium salt) is a water-soluble aniline derivative designed for the detection of hydrogen peroxide. This reagent is commonly employed in diagnostic assays and biological research, particularly when used in conjunction with 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone hydrochloride (MBTH) to establish a chromogenic system for evaluating oxidase activity. In this system, MBTH is oxidized to generate free radicals, which subsequently interact with TOOS to yield a colorless product that transforms into a blue-violet quinoid compound through a disproportionation reaction.
