Topiramate D12

Antiepileptic Agent

Topiramate D12 is a deuterated form of Topiramate, a broad-spectrum antiepileptic agent known for its diverse mechanisms of action. It functions primarily as a GluR5 receptor antagonist while enhancing GABAergic activity, inhibiting kainate/AMPA receptors, and blocking voltage-sensitive sodium and calcium channels. Additionally, Topiramate D12 increases potassium conductance and inhibits carbonic anhydrase, making it useful in the study of seizure disorders and related neurological conditions.
