Torsemide

Diuretic

Torsemide is an orally active loop diuretic that primarily targets the renal system to promote diuresis. It exhibits anti-aldosterone properties and vasodilatory effects, making it valuable in the study of cardiovascular and renal pathologies. Torsemide is commonly utilized in research related to heart failure, renal disease, and hepatic cirrhosis.

In Vitro Studies

In COS-7 cells expressing the functional fluorescent MR-147-GFP variant, Torsemide alone without aldosterone produced no detectable MR-GFP translocation. In H9C2-MR cells, Torsemide alone significantly decreased basal expression of Orosomucoid-1 and Tenascin-X in the absence of serum and aldosterone. [1]

Literature-reported observations and conditions; not Adooq-tested protocols or general treatment recommendations.

Torsemide and MR Localization in Transfected Cells

Cell-based study · COS-7 cells transiently transfected with the previously described MR-147-GFP functional fluorescent variant of MR [1]

In cells treated with 10−6 M torasemide alone (without aldosterone) no translocation of the MR-GFP was detected.
