TPP-IOA

Cytochrome c Inhibitor

TPP-IOA is a cytochrome c peroxidase inhibitor that plays a critical role in influencing apoptosis. By preventing cardiolipin oxidation and the subsequent release of cytochrome c into the cytosol, TPP-IOA effectively inhibits cell death in SH-SY5Y cells cultured in glucose environments. Additionally, it disrupts oxidative phosphorylation in isolated mitochondria, resulting in mitochondrial depolarization and network fragmentation. TPP-IOA has also demonstrated the ability to mitigate radiation-induced mortality in murine models, highlighting its potential utility in studies of cellular stress and survival.
