Travoprost

FP Prostaglandin Receptor Agonist

Travoprost is a selective FP prostaglandin receptor agonist characterized by its high affinity for this target. It exhibits significant ocular hypotensive effects, making it a valuable compound in the research of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Its ability to lower intraocular pressure positions Travoprost as a key reagent for studies focused on the treatment and management of these eye conditions.

In Vivo Studies

In naïve rhesus monkeys, a single topical treatment with Travoprost produced a transient, non-significant IOP increase at 2 h and significantly lower IOP than placebo at 23 h. Repeated daily topical Travoprost significantly reduced IOP at 24 h after each treatment, with the effect vanishing at 48 h after the last treatment. [1]

Literature-reported observations and conditions; not Adooq-tested protocols or general treatment recommendations.

Intraocular pressure after a single topical treatment

Animal study · Eight (four male and four female) naïve rhesus monkeys (M3–M10) [1]

Naïve rhesus monkeys received a single ocular topical treatment with Travoprost, with Eyestream® administered to the contralateral eye. A transient, non-significant IOP increase occurred at 2 h, followed by significantly lower IOP than placebo at 23 h.
