Trihexosylceramide (d18:1/12:0)

Emotional-related Compounds

Trihexosylceramide (d18:1/12:0) is a glycosphingolipid known to influence emotional regulation. Elevated serum levels of this compound have been observed in Mus musculus subjected to high-fat diets, demonstrating a positive correlation with mood Z-scores. Its accumulation in tissues has been implicated in the pathophysiology of angiokeratoma corporis diffusum. Trihexosylceramide (d18:1/12:0) is utilized in research exploring the relationship between diet-induced mood disorders and biochemical changes in lipid metabolism.
