Trimetazidine dihydrochloride

Antianginal Agent

Trimetazidine dihydrochloride is a selective inhibitor of long-chain 3-ketoyl coenzyme A thiolase, with an IC50 of 75 nM, thereby reducing beta-oxidation of free fatty acids. As an effective antianginal agent, it also exhibits cytoprotective, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive, and gastroprotective properties. Additionally, Trimetazidine dihydrochloride induces autophagy and acts as a 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase (HADHA) inhibitor, making it useful for various research applications related to cardiovascular health and metabolic regulation.
