Trimethidinium methosulfate

Ganglionic Blocking Agent

Trimethidinium methosulfate is a ganglionic blocking agent that primarily inhibits the conduction of sympathetic ganglia, leading to a reduction in vascular contraction. This compound exhibits central antihypertensive activity by acting on the cerebrovascular motor center and decreasing peripheral vascular resistance. While Trimethidinium methosulfate may produce mild cholinergic nerve inhibitory side effects, it remains a valuable tool for hypertension research and investigations into vascular regulation mechanisms.
