Trimethylcolchicinic acid

Trimethylcolchicinic acid is a colchicine analogue that primarily targets cellular sulfate production pathways. It enhances the synthesis of chondroitin sulfate in L cells while inhibiting dermatan sulfate production. Notably, this compound has demonstrated the ability to reduce liver fibrosis and cholestasis associated with prolonged biliary obstruction in rat models. Trimethylcolchicinic acid is valuable for research into liver fibrosis, gout, and cancer-related pathways.
