UNC-2170 maleate is a selective inhibitor of the methyl-lysine binding protein 53BP1, with an IC50 value of 29 µM and a Kd of 22 µM. This compound demonstrates a remarkable 17-fold selectivity for 53BP1 compared to nine other methyl-lysine reader proteins. 53BP1 is crucial in DNA Damage Repair (DDR) mechanisms and is recruited to sites of double-strand breaks (DSB), making UNC-2170 maleate a valuable tool for research in DNA repair processes and related cellular pathways.
