PIKfyve/PIP5K1C Inhibitor
UNI418 is a dual inhibitor targeting PIKfyve and PIP5K1C, demonstrating significant antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 with an EC50 of 1.4 μM. It effectively blocks ACE2-mediated viral endocytosis by inhibiting PIP5K1C, exhibiting an IC50 of 60.1 nM. Additionally, UNI418 prevents the proteolytic activation of PIKfyve-regulated proteases, further hindering SARS-CoV-2 entry into host cells with a Kd of 0.78 nM. This compound is particularly relevant for research focused on viral infections and cellular entry mechanisms.
