Valsartan methyl ester

Angiotensin II Antagonist

Valsartan methyl ester, a methyl ester derivative of Valsartan, serves as a selective angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist. It exhibits significant antihypertensive and cardioprotective properties by competitively inhibiting the interaction of angiotensin II with AT1 receptors, thereby reducing vasoconstriction, sodium retention, and myocardial hypertrophy signaling. This compound has demonstrated efficacy in lowering systolic blood pressure in L-NAME-induced hypertensive models. Valsartan methyl ester is valuable for research into arterial hypertension, hypertensive heart disease, and heart failure.
