Veratridine

VGSCs Agonist

Veratridine is a potent agonist of voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs). This plant-derived neurotoxin enhances sodium ion permeability by preventing channel inactivation, thereby inducing prolonged sodium ion flow across the membrane. Veratridine is particularly effective on the Nav1.7 channel, exhibiting an IC50 of 18.39 µM, making it useful for research studies focused on ion channel modulation and neurophysiology.
