Verticilide

Ryanodine-Binding Inhibitor

Verticilide is a ryanodine-binding inhibitor that specifically targets ryanodine receptors. It effectively inhibits ryanodine binding in the cockroach with an IC50 value of 4.2 μM, demonstrating significant specificity as compared to mouse ryanodine receptors, where inhibition is weak, with an IC50 of 53.9 μM. This compound is useful for studying calcium signaling pathways and the physiological roles of ryanodine receptors in various biological systems.
