ICE Inhibitor
VRT-18858 is a robust interleukin-1β converting enzyme (ICE) inhibitor, with a reported Ki value of 1.4 nM. This compound effectively inhibits lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced IL-1β release with an IC50 of 0.42 µM, and also suppresses IL-1β and IL-18 release induced by Staphylococcus aureus Cowan, with IC50 values of 1.3 and 2.1 µM, respectively, in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. VRT-18858 is an important tool for research in osteoarthritis and related inflammatory conditions.
