Xylobiose

CLDN2 Inhibitor

Xylobiose is an orally active inhibitor of Claudin 2 (CLDN2) that regulates intestinal barrier function and metabolic signaling pathways. It inhibits CLDN2 expression to decrease intestinal permeability, while also inducing HSP27 to enhance cellular protection. Additionally, Xylobiose modulates the miR-122a/miR-33a axis to inhibit hepatic lipid synthesis and improve insulin sensitivity. This compound is applicable in research surrounding type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome, as it strengthens intestinal barrier integrity and mitigates oxidative stress and inflammation while lowering blood glucose and lipid levels.
