(Z)-NMac1
Nm23-H1 Activator
(Z)-NMac1 is an activator of Nm23-H1, isolated from Zingiber cassumunar Roxb. It exhibits dual anti-metastatic and anti-proliferative effects, selectively inhibiting cancer cell proliferation during glucose starvation. This compound functions by inhibiting mitochondrial complex I activity, resulting in ATP depletion and mitochondrial dysfunction. (Z)-NMac1 is particularly valuable for researching tumors characterized by elevated oxidative phosphorylation, especially in glucose-restricted microenvironments.
