Zeaxanthin dipalmitate

carotenoid

Zeaxanthin dipalmitate is a carotenoid that exerts its biological effects through interaction with the P2X7 receptor (Kd=81.2 nM) and adiponectin receptor 1 (AdipoR1; Kd=533 nM). It demonstrates notable anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties, making it a valuable tool for research. Zeaxanthin dipalmitate has been shown to restore mitochondrial autophagy functions impaired by ethanol exposure. This compound is particularly relevant for studies focused on alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD) and retinitis pigmentosa (RP).
