Zerumin A

Anti-angiogenic Agent

Zerumin A is an anti-angiogenic compound that targets multiple pathways involved in angiogenesis, including KDR/VEGFR2, ANGPT1, ANGPT2, TIE1, and TIE2. It effectively inhibits the proliferation and migration of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) by modulating the VEGF-VEGFR and ANGPT-TIE signaling cascades, with significant inhibition of angiogenesis observed in zebrafish embryos at concentrations of 10-20 μM. Zerumin A is a valuable reagent for research into cancer and angiogenesis-related inflammatory diseases and is naturally derived from the ethanol extract of Alpinia caerulea fruits, seeds, and pericarp.
